Malcolm Reid is a globally recognised leader in the fields of risk management and cyber resilience. He gained a wealth of experience as a practitioner and advisor to global clients spanning a myriad of industry sectors. Some of his projects have included the Enterprise Business Continuity Program development for global entities, Country-level Critical Infrastructure Assessments, Global Fraud Risk Assessments, and Security Master Plan development.
Malcolm is a member of the global Board of Directors of ASIS International, the world’s largest membership organisation for security management professionals. He previously served in multiple senior volunteer roles at ASIS including, Standards and Guidelines commissioner, Regional Vice President, and as subject matter expert council member. Malcolm is also a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners and is a chapter leader. A graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, he also holds the highest professional certifications in the fields of Business Continuity, Security Management and Fraud Management simultaneously. In addition, Malcolm’s credentials include the ISO 22301 Lead Implementer certification, a graduate certificate in project management and the certificate in Information Security Management Principles, with distinction, from the British Computer Society. He served as an adjunct faculty member for Boston University and for Norwich University. He is a certified instructor for both the Business Continuity Institute (BCI) and the Professional Evaluation and Certification Board (PECB) and has conducted numerous professional certification courses. He is also a board member of the USA national chapter board of the BCI.
Malcolm is a member of the Information Technology, industry advisory council at Virginia State University and is also a member of the boards of directors of two major charitable organizations: The Mega Mentors organisation and the Families of the Wounded Fund in Richmond, Virginia. In 2018, Malcolm was recognized by IFSEC Global as a Top Influencers in Security and Fire in the Thought Leaders category. He was also a finalist in 2019 and 2017 for the BCI’s Personality of the Year awards for the Americas region.
